Work Groups

The Green Collaborative work groups are structured to be project oriented.  Currently, there are four work groups open to all members of the Green Collaborative.

Advocacy, Policy and Political Outreach
This work group will concentrate on advocacy, policy and political outreach projects.  The Green Collaborative previously compiled and released a Green joint platform for the Mayoral and City Council elections of February 2010, which was well received.  Many members strongly believe that a benefit of participating in the Green Collaborative is its potential policy influence.  Forest Bradley-Wright of the Alliance for Affordable Energy and Linda Stone of Global Green will co-chair this work group.  If you are interested in joining this work group or for questions, please email Forest Bradley-Wright or Linda Stone.

Economic and Workforce Development
This work group will focus on green workforce and economic development projects.  As the clean energy economy emerges, the Greater New Orleans region will need to be prepared to take advantage of new economic opportunities.  This group will also work to ensure equitable and inclusive growth of the region’s green economy.  Z Smith of Eskew+Dumez+Ripple is co-chair this work group.  If you are interested in joining this work group, please email Z Smith

Marketing and Public Relations
This work group will concentrate on marketing and public relations projects.  An important function of the Green Collaborative will be educating others about important green issues.  The marketing will be targeted at citizens, potential businesses, policy makers and others.  Tony Laska of  Conservation Services Group and Phyllis Jordan of  The Green Project will co-chair this work group.  If you are interesting in joining this work group, please email Tony Laska or Phyllis Jordan

Member Services
This work group will focus on recruiting and meeting the needs of members of the Green Collaborative. A main task of this workgroup is to create efficient and effective methods of communication which will include a newsletter, creation of a Google Group as well as maintaining a website. An important benefit of the Green Collaborative to its members is information sharing which will happen best in a collaborative that excels at communication.  If you are interested in joining this working group, please email Lindsey Mayer.
